When I was four I would always carry around a big book with images. At seven I decided I would have the most amazing career of them all – being a princess. Puffed, shinny dresses, tea sets with large poppy flowers, a wand with a star on top, that would bend after first being used.
but I know exactly when I got the next idea. I was twelve and had started to learn physics in school (to be more specific, I had started complaining about the most annoying subject of all). In order to like it at least a bit, my mother suggested I could visit distant planets if I liked physics. I decided to give it one more chance. I had dreamt I looked nice in an astronaut suit.
where the princess and the astronaut would get married and have a home on Venus and kids with little star marks on their foreheads – the hippie world, full of ideals and peace, bright colours and high school years. A collection of flowery bandanas, the make-up palette hidden from the parents under the bed, music and musicians with dreads in their hair – in one word, I was a hippie.
